Learn about SANAA‘s process for designing and creating Grace Farms in New Canaan, Connecticut. Explore the international award-winning River building and hear behind-the-scenes stories about the materials and structural elements that were chosen to communicate Grace Farms Foundation’s vision.

Grace Farms Tours includes a substantial amount of walking, including time outdoors and between volumes of the River building, so please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.

This special tour will be led by Toshihiro Oki, who established his office in New York after working for several years at SANAA’s Japanese architectural office with Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa. Grace Farms was SANAA’s first project after winning the Pritzker Prize in 2010, the industry’s highest honor.

Archtober does not provide any transportation to this partner location or any of their events. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation.

There is no public transportation to Grace Farms. The nearest public transportation access is the New Canaan train station, a ten minute drive from Grace Farms. To reach New Canaan by train, take the Metro North New Haven Line from Grand Central Terminal to the New Canaan train station.

By car: If driving, Grace Farms is accessed easily from Route 123 and 124 and marked with a small gray sign. Upon entrance, please present a valid driver's license at our welcome kiosk, where you will be guided to the nearest parking lot. Approximately one hour by car from NYC.
