This course highlights new research in French fashion history by emerging thought leaders in the field. Drop in for one session or take all five and learn about vital new research in fashion studies. Classes will explore the history of fashion display in department stores in Paris and in presentations at World’s Fairs, the transformative impact the First World War had on the French fashion industry, the cultural shifts brought about by the introduction of ready-made fashion in the 1950s and 60s, and much more.
