Current construction practices lead to buildings with short lifespans made from products that contain a range of toxic chemicals which pollute our homes, create a host of health conditions, and whose toxic afterlives can span millennia. All people are at risk of unwanted exposures in daily habitats, but those most vulnerable are the young and the poor—traditionally and continuously marginalized.
Healthy Materials Lab is dedicated to the creation of better buildings for all. In this presentation, Healthy Materials Lab’s co-founders, Alison Mears and Jonsara Ruth, will be in conversation with David J. Lewis about LTL Architects’ recent project that establishes new paradigms for better, healthier building practices.
Speakers:
Alison Mears, AIA LEED AP, Director, Healthy Materials Lab, Parsons School of Design
Jonsara Ruth, ASID, IIDA, Design Director, Healthy Materials Lab, Parsons School of Design
David J. Lewis, AIA, LTL Architects
